Leadership
The Ecologic Analytics leadership team has over 55 years of combined utility, automated meter reading (AMR), and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) experience that has been instrumental in helping Ecologic Analytics develop an integrated set of AMI data management software and services.
Craig Mataczynski (Chairman of the Board)
Craig has over 24 years of experience in utility and energy company management. He is the former President and CEO of NRG Energy's North American Business unit (which had 2001 revenues of $4.5 billion) and has been involved in the start-up of three successful businesses.
Prior to working at NRG, he held a variety of positions at Northern States Power Company (Minneapolis, Minnesota) including Director of Corporate Strategy and Development.
Craig received a BS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in May, 1982 and an MBA from the University of Minnesota in June, 1986 and attended the Harvard Advanced Management Program (International Strategic Managers Program) during the fall of 1997.
David Hubbard (Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer)
Dave has over 10 years of electric utility experience. Prior to co-founding Ecologic Analytics, Dave worked as a meter engineer at Xcel Energy (Minneapolis, Minnesota). He was responsible for meter OEM product evaluations; joint testing with OEM and AMR providers; developing applications using XML, Java, and WAPI technologies; and supporting the Information Technology department in development of core metering systems. He was also responsible for engineering support; meter shop automation; meter shop testing; and installation automation, sub-station, and transmission metering.
He is currently the senior system architect at Ecologic Analytics and is the key designer of the entire Ecologic Analytics software suite. Dave's background in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power Systems has allowed him to be an active contributor to various utility metering initiatives. He has a deep knowledge of the metering and energy delivery business. Dave has evaluated multiple AMR solutions and worked with utilities to deploy them and integrate them with current business processes and information systems.
Dave received a BS in Electric Engineering from North Dakota State University, Fargo, North Dakota in May, 1996.
Kristine Beck (Vice President and Chief Operations Officer)
Kristine has over 19 years of information technology experience with over 14 of those years in the utility industry. Her business experience includes over nine years of systems analysis in a large electric utility, including the design and development of integrated automated meter reading (AMR) systems.
Prior to co-founding Ecologic Analytics, she was a consultant at Xcel Energy (Minneapolis, Minnesota) in the Information Technology department. She was the lead analyst and programmer for the gas and electric meter inventory management and tracking system. She coordinated the integration of the internal meter systems with Schlumberger-CellNet's RF AMR system as part of a one-million end-point AMR project. She is currently the lead business analyst at Ecologic Analytics, responsible for direct customer interaction to ensure appropriate functionality is developed in the Ecologic Analytics software suite for client utilities and proper communication is maintained throughout any project. Additionally, she manages the business, including human resources; financials and accounting; legal; and other back-office business tasks.
Kristine received a BA with a double major in Computer Science and Chemistry from Saint Mary's University, Winona, Minnesota in May, 1985.
John Galloway (Chief Sales Officer)
John has more than 18 years of IT leadership experience. John brings a proven track record of leading people, building customer confidence and selling multi-million dollar technology deals.
Prior to joining Ecologic Analytics, he spent 13 years in two stints with EDS. In his most recent post with EDS, John was responsible for developing new accounts for the U.S. energy and utility division, building the sales pipeline to over $150 million in less than a year. In between periods at EDS, John held leadership positions at Level 3 Communications, where he developed an application service provider business strategy and led sales activities bringing in more than $30 million in annual revenues.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Mich.
Craig Norman (Chief Financial Officer)
Craig brings more than 15 years of executive leadership for technology companies to the Ecologic Analytics team. Most recently, Craig served as the CFO for netASPx, a managed applications services provider for enterprise resource planning and workforce management solutions, where he established and tracked performance against the annual $25 to $30 million financial plans.
Prior to his tenure with nextASPx, Craig was the general counsel and vice president of administration for Network Computing Services, Inc., where he played key roles in helping the company acquire supercomputing assets from Cray Research, IBM and other system developers.
In addition to his financial background, Craig is member of the Minnesota Bar holding a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science from Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minn.
In addition to the management team, Ecologic Analytics has more than 40 people employed in improving existing work engines (applications), developing additional work engine functions, supporting existing customers, and integrating the Ecologic Analytics MDMS into the PG&E SmartMeter™ project. The Ecologic Analytics development team includes Project Managers, Technical Architects, Software Engineers, Data Base Administrators, Analysts, Testers, and Quality Inspectors with knowledge of the various tools employed in the Ecologic Analytics software suite (Oracle, Java, Weblogic, etc.).
