Meter Reading Analytics: Enhancing meter read validations using history.

Like so many things in life, history is an excellent indicator of the present, especially when it comes to customer consumption. In fact, when there are gaps in meter read data, historical usage can help to fill them in.

The meter reading analytics (MRA) module within the Ecologic Meter Data Management System (MDMS) uses advanced algorithms to calculate usage baselines for a single location or similar customers as defined by rate, geography or other variables.

Doing this creates more accurate estimates whenever there is a gap in the meter-read data. And while the MRA process does fall under the estimation umbrella, it is highly -- perhaps even exceptionally -- accurate and extremely reliable to use, making it ideal for billing needs.
