Service Order Engine: Taking action on alerts and alarms.

When it comes to meter read and service point exceptions, knowing is half the battle. Thanks to the Service Order Engine (SOE) module within the Ecologic Meter Data Management System (MDMS), you can consider that half of the battle won.

SOE automates the generation of service orders for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system devices. Then it forwards these orders to the work order management system for dispatch to the field.

All of this is nice, but SOE goes one step further. It actually monitors the progress of the order, processes updates, and closes the orders. So not only does SOE send up the metaphorical red flag for your meter issue, it makes sure it gets seen, then lowers it down the mast, folds it up, and puts it away when complete.
